Anybody have a design for a sight pusher

I'm new to machining, and from looking at these in catalogs it looks like something I could handle. Just need some specs.
 
Are you referring to rifle tools or pistol tools? [maybe none of the above?]

Obviously they would be different from each other in design......and pistol tools would vary by slide dimensions and dovetail specs...

Just trying to understand your question......:thinking:
 
One easy approach is to just make blocks to fit into a small, bench-mounted arbor press. This gives you great control on the pressure to push the site into place, without having to do threading, etc. Blocks to fit the slide of a 1911, Glock, etc. will be very straightforward - you also need a small tool that fits on the press plunger to cradle the sight without marring it.
 
I was thinking about something for a pistol. I've seen some advertised as universal with adjustments to fit different slides.
