Anybody have an idea what this might be? A friend found it amongst some things of his dad's who was a machinist as a trade and built muzzle loading rifles as a hobby (amongst other hobbies).

No pic , hard to guess . :big grin:

definite- blade scraper assembly, for a meat saw.
the 2 long thing bladelike metal appendages are what scrapes the sinew and bone dust from the rotating sawblade
the shorter fiber or plastic scraper is set in proximity to the lower saw wheel, it removes bone dust and sinew from the rotating lower wheel

at a guess old school Biro or Toledo, but only speculation as to the manufacturer

Thanks. I'll give Chris your answer and let him figure out why his Dad had it. :)

My friend said that made sense. His Dad worked for Stimpson Scale in Louisville Ky and they made scales, meat saws, and grinders for butcher shops.

Thanks for solving the mystery.

i have never seen a Stimson saw in real life, but i was aware of their existence.

i'm happy to have helped, although i was wrong as to the manufacturer :eagerness:
