Does anyone know of a beater old power hammer with potential as a project for cheap?

I don't think "Power Hammer" and "Cheap" are generally used in the same sentence...

I have a friend who has a tire hammer he built, looks simple to build and can be had fairly cheap if you are a good scrounger for some of the parts, I have started collecting some of the parts for a build myself....

If I ever get out of this strata, I'm planning on building a tire hammer. Pretty simple, if you build it sturdy enough.

I agree, Power Hammer and cheap do not belong in the same sentence. Build is the solution. I live in Southern NH where old iron hides for years and I've seen a lot but no hammers. I'm getting ready to retire and I am geared up to make Steam Punk Art but my friend and fellow Artist is a metal sculptor who really needs a hammer. I'll start collecting parts. Plans are plentiful. Thanks to all. I love this site. I found a precision Drill Press from the Washburn Shops at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester MA. Line driven. In great shape. A fun project. I'll post some pics.
