The other day I was out scrounging for metal and found a piece of angle that would make my table for the porta band for scrap prices. Knocked it out in a couple hours mostly slitting on the mill/drill.
Works very well just need a foot switch now. It uses the 3 #12 screw holes the factory shoe uses so removal is quick. I wanted to be able to turn the table upside down clamp it to a stool, and set the saw on it for assembly and that works well. I also decided to mount it with the blade slot behind the blade, so the table has to come off to change bands. That way I have a flat table out front, besides assembly is literally set the saw on it and 3 screws.
I think it's a bit different than most I've seen and probably a little lighter. If anyone is interested and has a piece of 3x6" angle in scrap I'll post some measurements
