Couple weeks ago I unplugged the display box cable from the surge protector to plug in a shop vacuum (I think) and left the cable unplugged.
Thursday afternoon I went to the shop, plugged the display in to the surge protector, flipped it on, the DRO switch was in the on position, the display simply let out a very loud beep and would not power up. The beep lasted 20 to 30 seconds and that it. It's "dead"
Friday call PM, warranty no problem. Friday I get a bill emailed to me for $428 for a replacement display .
Late Saturday afternoon I walk thru the shop, the display is on and working. I have unplugged it, turned it on & off. Darn thing seems to be working just fine. Turn the surge protector/ power strip off.
Fast forward a few hours. I rearranged how I had to electrical cords plugged into the surge protector/ power strip , turn the power strip on & bingo the display is dead & the beep is back.
Isolate the DRO display to its own circuit and works fine.

Anyone else have these kinda issues?

So it's under warranty and they still billed you?
Sounds like something goofy with that power strip/surge protector- I would stop using it
Best to have the display on it's own power supply not shared with other stuff

Im guessing the bill is a typo and the warranty no charge got left off. I will call them 2nd thing Monday morning.

Ok I found the route cause of the problem.......faulty cable on the surge protector. ....

Glad you found the issue (without shorting yourself out ;) ). The bill may have been for an "advance replacement:" I've had similar situations where high-value items will be sent out, you get a bill (or credit card charged) and then refunded when the get the original back.

Exactly, thats all it was so we could have kept track of a part sent. We did not end up needing to send the part anyway though
