A friend of mine just let me know he picked up some "Spyder Mach-Blue" cutting lube at Lowe's - I'd never noticed it before. I was looking into it and it sure looked like blue Anchor Lube. I did a search with both names and found this: The SDS's for the two are identical except that the physical description says "green" for Anchor Lube and "blue" for the Spyder product.

I suspect the Mach-Blue Goo is made under license from Anchor, or is just another branding of the same product.

I would suspect rebranding. If the bottle says it was make in Westlake, OH, then it's just AnchorLube with a different dye.

We used to buy it under the name "Westlube" back in the 80's. Possible that, if there were any protections on the formulation, they have expired.

A little digging reveals that the parent of Spyder is in Kansas City, MO

Nothing but "Made in USA" on the Spyder bottle, but I'm convinced. It's a good local source (sans shipping) for most of us. I still haven't used it, so I don't know if it's worth anything or not, but I bought a bottle...
