Gives you just a bit more respect and insight when you are out in the shop making chips!

It is almost hypnotic the way it builds and flows and shears and flexes.

Neat video. In the first segment: That loading up, followed by chip release, then a different cut depth is what I always suspected gave a poor finish on CRS.

Notice the lack of build-up with the high speed tool bits. That's why they produce such a good surface finish compared to carbide.

Thanks so much for pointing this out I will add it for my students.

Not as cool as the one you posted but this one shows an end mill in slow motion. You can see the chips forming.
