Alliant Vertical Mill- Quill Feed Knob/Stud

Does anyone know what the thread size the engagement stud is.

I just removed a broken stud and tried installing the reproduction stud that I bought on EBAY. I assumed that the bridgeport replacement would work. The pitch matches, but the major diameter is to big, .010" on Diameter . A 10-32 nut fits very sloppily on it the replacement stud. Im going to put it on the comparator at work and take some measurements of both. Just wander if anyone knew. maybe the replacement has nonconforming threads

I was thinking it a metric thread maybe whats on the Alliant.

Maybe the thread is M5x0.8.

I THINK that 10-32 will screw into M5x0.8, but not the other way around.
