Align z axis power feed popping

Hi, I’m pretty new and I’m getting a PM-833TV set up. I installed the Align z axis power feed today. It operated smoothly, but right as I engage the lever, there’s an audible pop. Happens in both directions. Is this a normal thing? If not, what am I doing wrong?

On my mill that has an Align power feed just after you engage the lever it makes a pop noise. I believe it is normal. A while back i think there was another thread about this and the conscious was it was normal.

Both my feeds do the same thing.

Mine does the same thing, if I recall it has an engagement solenoid type clutch that engages the drive motor. When stopped it disengages so you are not turning the motor when you manually turn the handle.
