Resolved Alerts (bell) not alerting

I was getting notice of new responses to things on the alert bell automatically.
Yesterday that stopped. I now need to hit refresh to see a count.
Did something change?

Where I circled. I get a number there.. it's always auto updating.
Yesterday it stopped, I now need to refresh to see the count. it comes as a red box with the number of new alerts.

Awwww ........................ok . I thought you had an audible alert bell go off . Everything is fine down here as far as the alert counts so I don't think it's a site issue .

so why the change. My browser hasn't updated since 12/15.. so any changes would have been on the site.
