Hi, the dro arm (home made) that originally came with my bridgeport is starting to annoy me, it's not long enough and I have to crane my neck to see it accurately when working on a piece, and when I walk around the back of the machine it always jabs me for my trouble. Anyway, I was thinking of buying myself an arm off of ebay to solve my problems, however which one, there are 4 versions (A, B, C, D) from ACU rite that I am interested in and I was wondering if anybody had pictures of them installed on their machines? I am also interested in opinions as to whether they are any good or 'I wish it was longer' or 'doesn't rotate enough' or 'this one is great!'

Thanks, Ron.

I used a piece of 2" square steel tubing. One end was bolted to the lifting eye hole in the ram, the other end was just bolted to the ACU Rite case. Worked good and was movable. It drooped a bit, not too much. If I wasn't so lazy, I would have built a better pivot for the ram end, then it wouldn't droop.

Edit: I guess I should note that there was only one bolt in each end so it could pivot on both ends.

Scence you have a mill why not just make one that sutes your needs.

I could but given my limited allowable time there are things I would rather concentrate on; but yes that is probably what I will end up doing as I already have plenty of material and my time is effectively free.

That is basically what is already there and it is attached to the back of the ram. I would just really like to get the dro into a more 'usable' position. There is an argument though for the fact that I do have a dro holder, own it, and it works so why change it?!
