i need to cut out an action in a stock
i got a small milling machine ?
i got a stock that is not cut for an action yet i need to
cut out the cilindircal form for an action
i wantto cut it just a little bigger then the action dia
what sort of tool do i need ?and how do i proceed ?

At the top of gunsmithing there is a sticky post by Les Brooks that takes you through the entire stock making process. Since its just the action you need to carve in just goto that part and see how and read how he does it. Very informative. Has helped me a few times now.

I use what's called a core box router bit from MLCS. They have them in the right sizes, or close to it. For something like a Remington, which is 1.350", I use the 1.25, go deep enough, then trim the sides. When you get to the tang, change over to an end mill. You should bed the action anyway and the flat cut is easlity filled with bedding.
