Well, the Acra-turn 13-40 is in the shop. A gear headed beast for sure. Now to level it and clean off years of dried oil and dust. It's an old machine but just stored and never run by the previous owner. It came with about $1000 worth of tooling too. Woot-woot...........I'm pumped to have a stronger ,bigger, much more ridged machine with hardened ways too!!! Now to gather the necessary extras to make it as complete as my old Rockwell. Yep, I'm a confirmed tool junky, striving to make the next pay grade.......tool head!

Yes pictures please!
Help feed the other tool junkies........

With out pictures it never happend.

Yeah... pictures are the secret decoder ring for acceptance in the tool junkie's club...
As if anyone cares of their membership... LOL

We do enjoy pictures though... :)

Ok, I've spent the last 45 min. Trying to post the pictures of my new toy. No joy so far........anyone want to teach me how to do this. I have posted pics on other forums with no big issues, I guess I'm gotten stupid on this one however.....

Now ,just how they got upside down is a real mystery...........upside down fixed.....
Cleaning and wiring will begin tomorrow.......

It came with 3 jaw, 4 jaw, face plate minus the pins for the D-1-5, dog driver plate, steady rest and follow rest. 2 CXA tool posts and 7 tool blocks. I already bought another D-1-5 back plate to mount the new 5-C collet chuck. I found an Aloris main block and bought it to have a name brand plus I wanted the two extra Aloris tool holders. It has a 5 Morse headstock and 3 Morse tail stock. Wiring is postponed for jury duty.......old dried oil and dust is the cleaning issue. Varsol is working on it now.

Try spray on Easy Off oven cleaner. You'll be amazed. The old dried oil just runs off. Work on only small areas at a time. If you leave the oven cleaner on paint for maybe 15 minutes, it starts to soften the paint. I've tried all sorts of solvents over the years; oven cleaner beats them all.
