My shop is limited in space. And to add to the problem I build with wood as well as metal, so I have added equipment to house in the shop. So, I bought a Burke #4 mill (Brown and Sharpe collets, and a drill chuck) because of the small size. It fits well in the shop. I'm still working on the three phase needs.
The question at hand is the rehab'ing of the mill. Looking to the future, should I invest in a Bridgeport J replacement head. These seem to be popular upgrades for a Burke millrite vertical mill. With a new head I would be starting out with a fairly "new" mill, thus most of my problems would be learning, not equipment related problems from old equipment.
I was thinking of H. H. Roberts replacement heads. But I cannot find much on them on the net. So I thought I would just ask for a little advice. What is the best replacement head for a Bridgeport head (because that will fit on a millrite).
