Hello everyone. I have a 10x22 lathe and I bought the stand for the lathe. But because of vibration and my soft wooden floor it stand on I added 15mm plywood under the feet and on top. I have some 3mm rubber-cork that one uses for gaskets. I was wondering if I should cover the top of the plywood before I put the tray and lathe on top. Any thoughts?? Bad or good?

I would seal the plywood with epoxy. Otherwise it will soak up oil, etc over time which will degrade the plywood.

I do not like the idea of the cork. In my thinking it can distort for one, and it might take away from rigidity. This is speculation on my part.
