Just bought this surface grinder at the local scrap yard, it was still on the truck. It's all hand operated but has a new motor. Wish it was single phase but hey you can't have it all:biggrin:

Good going, Charley. Harig builds (or used to) some good equipment. We'll add your name to the "You Suck!" club.

I think I got full membership when I bought the 2 Bridgeports but of course you could update me to "Lifetime Member"

In the photo it looks like it is setting in the area you cleaned out for the Bridgeport. Does this mean I can keep the Bridgeport as you no longer have room for it? You need to quit going to the scrap yard! You don't have any room left and by the way you SUCK.

Congrats on the new toy. How big is the spindle motor? If 1 HP or less we will need to figure out how to run both using the new VFD you ordered.

I just took a closer look at the photo of the motor tag you attached. It is a 1 HP and can be connected for 220 Volts. It looks original or at least from the same brand tool. Hope it is a good one.

Why was it going to the bone yard? Hope nuthin bad. Good luck with it it's a nice machine. I ran one years ago.

"Billy G"

This guy has sent quite a few nice pieces of machinery to the boneyard, Benny & I both have stuff he has sent there before. This one he took from a customer for money he was owed for sharpening services. I need to find a magnetic chuck for it now. It is really clean. It also needs a coolant system

Congrats Charley, I'm glad you snagged it before Jaun snagged it with the grapple &threw it on the "junk" pile!!!!! Phil.

That's a fine feed drive reading in 0.0001 increments.

I kinda figured that but not sure if it's working or not as it turns/spins rather easily, I never fooled with it much cause I was in a hurry to gloat:biggrin:

I was looking around on the net for info on this and wow it seems to be a very popular machine & brand, they are making a new version of this same model, the cheapest one listed on fleabay was $750 or so. The average was in the $1200 range.

Heading over to the shop in a few to caress her a bit :shush::nuts:
