I'm trying to decide between the 727m or 932m.
I know I want 3 axis DRO and X power feed.
Would I really use the PDF option on the 932?
Would the 3" quill travel limit me very much?
Is the 932 worth the extra $$

Any help would be appreciated?
Thanks

I have a 727m and like it, have had it going on four years. For me the choice was 727 or PM 25. I am not sorry of my choice but I have one suggestion and that is get the biggest machine that will do the size work you anticipate and can fit in your work space. I think the power down feed would be nice for boring combined with the longer quill travel of the 932. Good luck in your choosing. I'm sure someone else will chime in and help you spend your money soon. We kind of like to do that here if you haven't noticed yet! :encourage:

PDF is nice for boring. You don't do that all that often but when you do, PDF would be very nice to have. What you will do often is drill and tap stuff. I would confirm if the 932M can power tap and if it can, you will be very glad you have that capability. The 932 is also twice as heavy as the 727 and where mills are concerned, mass matters. If the budget can handle it, I would definitely go for the 932M with PDF and DRO.

Contgrats on the new mill!

I have the 932M and as Mikey said I use the PDF for boring and it is a really nice feature for that. You are going to love it!

Now stick around and open up your wallet - we have plenty of helpful advice to get you tooled up while you're waiting on it to arrive. :dollars:

I'll go ahead and throw one of my favorites into the ring for consideration - a 2.5" 45* face mill.

This gets used on a majority of projects and is great for squaring up of finish facing parts. You'll appreciate the mass of the 932M it runs this like a dream.
