6" Digital readout DRO

I ordered the 6" and the 35" DRO's Got the 6" yesterday and the 35 is coming Monday. Now heres the thing.

There is only 2 places I can mount the 6" One place is on the Head Stock side of the carriage and the other is the other side. The other side is where the Follow rest mounts so that causes a problem.

The only thing I can come up with is to make some spacers to mount it on that side so I can still mount the follow rest.

Picture is of it setting on the Heat Stock Side, So Anyone got any Ideas sure could use some help.

I had run into the same sort of thing when I put a Sino DRO on my lathe. I ended up mounting on the tailstock side, But I didnt want to mess up using the follow rest either. What it did was mount the scale way back towards the rear of the lathe. I used a piece of 3/8 thick X 1/2 tall X ? long to reach out to the scale.

I found that was a fair bit more involved than I cared for, but it did get the scale well out of harms way. The follow rest is still usable, the scale is well away from chips and oil. I hope my description makes sense. If not, let me know and Ill post pics.

Thanks Paul I think I got it, I think I'll make some spacers and mount it that way then I can still use the follow rest and the DRO.
