image.jpeg image.jpeg4"x8"X1/2" steel centered on rotary table bored thru hole.890"(Chuck is.875") milled a groove to accept the o.d. Of the Chuck and Id of the register to allow the Chuck to set into the steel. Drilled and counter sank 3 bolts to mount Chuck to the steel then cut a slot on each end to use for mounting to table ( I'll probably clean the mill scale off at some point too)
 
A OK! I would machine the side that is going to go against the mill or rotary table, too.

I've been wanting to do that to a 8" 3-jaw chuck I have on hand. I have the material, just got to get around to it some day.
 
Good use of your "Brain Fluid" (OK, I mis-read the scale at first, but it's a lot more fun mis-read than accurately read!)
