1236T cross slide and compound dial modification

I have always thought the the dials on my cross slide and compound have been to tight (hard to turn). I have taken them apart and lubed them, that was no help.

Yesterday I decided to address the problem. I replaced the stiff spring with a much lighter spring. Actually cut one spring in two and then trimmed it until I liked the feel.
