12" spindle gear

hello
this weekend i had time to play on the lathe. here is the latest upgrade i made for the lathe. the spindle gear on my lathe had quite a bit of wear. i had some gear stock that was the same tooth count and pitch as the lathe gear. so i cut the some stock off and bore the hole to size. then used a boring bar and carriage to cut the keyway. here is a pic of the finished gear.

this stock was 1018 that the tread was rolled. so it work hardened the gear surface which should help with wear. unfor i cant remember where i picked up. it was a 2 ft piece they had left over. i still have a bout a foot. i have one more gear that i made because since i was set up i made 2.
