My workshop has a 230 V single phase 30A service.
I have a 5hp vector duty motor 14.2 FLA which I want to install in my lathe.
Single phase option VFDs are apparently 3 phase running derated on a single phase.
What is my best option?
I still need a few of the 30 amps for lights etc.
Is there a way to “tune” it out?
I watched a video with Clough42 on U-Tube and tuning his VFD to get rid of the squeal in his motor. (6:25 in this video. Can this be done on the Yaskawa?
@mksj do you have any input on this?
220 Single Phase to VFD on L1 and L2
I just finished running a 220v sub-panel over to where my mill is located and was looking for advice on wiring. When I purchased my Super 55 Wells Index the guy I got it from also provided an idle motor, magnetic contactor, general contactor, start capacitor, switch and timer. However, I am...
I have the opportunity to get a pretty good deal on a lathe. It has a 3-phase motor with a Yaskawa F7 VFD. The lathe will run on single phase, BUT the VFD is a 3 phase input unit rated at 2.2 kW. The motor is 3 hp. Am I correct that with single phase input the VFD needs to be derated to...
Hello! The Acer Dynamic is my first lathe and I just purchased it about a week ago. I'm attempting to get my shop updated with a new 40 amp circuit, 220v, single phase, outlet to the lathe (This is what I have available currently). I have the power wiring, and conduit almost done. I've ordered...
I have a question regarding VFD drives. I understand that if they set a long time the capacitors may discharge. I have an installation of an exhaust fan that I just installed. I installed an exhaust fan on my shop with a VFD unit that I switched on the input side. I have used VFD units where...
