Has anyone had any experience with these preconfigured "GEARSETTE" on a 6" lathe? Are they a real time saver or not worth the trouble?

The time has finally come to start messing around with threading. I have a used lathe that arrived without the change gears, so I need to buy some.
Should I buy metal change gears or plastic gears?
I would buy the plastic, but LMS is out of stock on the full set. I'm a little concerned about...
I have a Craftsman 101-28990 w/QCGB. I would like to know what size gears should be on the change gears when adjusting the QCGB for threading? Im assuming there is a neutral set of gears that are used when using the QCGB?
