I put together a video of how I make a machinist Jack and I am making a pair of them to be given away next Monday. They are a simple design using 7/8" hex stock that I drill and tap for a 3/8" bolt. I also add a simple taper to the top and face off the head of the bolt for a nice flat surface...
Had a 2 "aluminum laying around and started this project as a challenge.
But, after all trigonometry and calculations I realized that it is way easyer than it looked at begining.
It consist in bore a stepped hole and machine two internal channel. Same thing 6 times.
