Jeep project

Another thread revival/ update...

The Jeep has a leaking pinion seal on the front differential that I need to replace... I'm planning to tackle that very soon.

Also, the tires have aged out... they still have plenty of tread, but they are now 10 years old and beginning to show cracks between the treads. The wheels and tires that are on it came off a 2014 Wrangler JK... the JK's had a different bolt pattern (5 on 5" instead of 5 on 4½") so I've been using wheel spacer/ adapters. I decided it's time to get away from that...

I've been looking for a set of the OEM wheels that originally came on the Jeep...

...they come up for sale fairly often, but sell quick... I haven't had any luck getting a set until today.

I picked up 6 fairly cheaply. The two on the left are slightly darker and have some staining in the paint... the other four cleaned up nicely. I'll use the top left wheel for a spare and put the bottom left wheel in storage.

Looks good.

The last couple of days, I've been cleaning in my shop, trying to find enough room to do some work on the Jeep.

I've probably found and killed three dozen black widow spiders... every time I pick something up off the floor, there is a spider or two under it.

I also discovered the mud wasps have moved into the gloves on my blast cabinet...

I managed to get enough space cleared to get the Jeep in and work around it...

My plan is to do several repairs on the Jeep including replacing the front pinion seal, new brake lines, new front calipers, new muffler and tailpipe, check and replace the balljoints if needed, new wheels and tires, and install a new clutch...

I already have most of the parts... I just need to find the time.

I am so happy you kept it and decided to work on it to bring it back to its glory.

I am having so much fun with mine... it is stupid funny... I walk and look back twice... feel like a frigging little kid with it...
