About a week ago I was doing the little project on my mill (Burke-Millrite) when the x-axis became vary difficult to move. I was able to finish, but have not been able to figure out what have happened to it. Y-axis is working freely. Any suggestions?

Thanks Bob

Were you at or near either end of the lead screw travel? Also there a chip or two may have gotten into the threads of the lead screw causing it to bind..

Not sure of this mill, but is it possible the nut(s) holding the hand wheels became loose and the handwheel tightened up against the carriage.

Thanks guys. I was not near the ends, work in the middle. Hand wheels are good. Possible a chip, I was working with plastic, but did not us air to clean things off and the chip would have had to get up underneath. Been leaning towards the gibs, but cant figure how it would happen so fast. Hope to get back in the shop tomorrowand will check thing out.
