Hello,

I have what I believe to be a SB heavy 10 in working condition (although nowhere near some of your SB lathes, really impressive work).

I've been doing a bit of wood cutting with it using the cranks etc, but has anyone attached a tool rest to their lathe for this purpose and used it as a "normal" wood lathe? If so, I'd love to see your setup. Would there be any safety issues or other concerns with doing this?

Thanks!

Thanks Steve. Yeah, that helps. You may be right about the wood lathe being cheaper in the long run. It would be nice though to only have one lathe in the garage! (besides my mill and CNC router :) )

I see you're from Tampa, I'm originally from Dunedin.
