The red plastic box these came in was a pain, because even though it fit in the toolbox it wouldn't stay open and I didn't want to cut the top off because I could use the box for something else. This is my solution. Cut with a four flute endmill with 1/32" clearance. Easy to get in and out but without excess play, sometimes difficult to put them back in actually!

Wood is fine with stainless steel, but steel will rust from the moisture in the wood. Just a thought. Perhaps dunk the wood in keosene then store the parrells Tom

Looks good Andre. I've used wood for tool storage. I do live in a dry climate, so no issues. Andre has a good point on the wood becoming oil saturated, and if you notice the start of rust, do a preemptive strike and soak the wood with the least odoriferous oil you have at hand, RO oil comes to mind. There may be a little swelling of the wood with oil depending on the density of the wood, so you might want to test a small piece of the material you want to use for expansion before deciding on your slot with, or just use PVC or other stable material.
