I've picked up this mill drill at auction last year along with some other stuff and I'm trying to determine the brand. The only writing on it states "AK (M) 270-0212". It's a pretty large drill with the following specs:
  • Arbor - 1.75"
  • Hole size - 2-1/8"
  • Length - 11"
Kennametal uses the same model number designation as this one, but this drill doesn't have the name Kennametal on it anywhere. With the Kennametal drills, I think 270 is the model and 0212 is the size. In this case, I believe it means 2.12" or that it cuts a 2-1/8" diameter hole.

Here's some pictures too. Any help identifying this is welcome. Thank you.

Could be a Valenite or Kennemetal . They take WCEM inserts if I remember correctly . They will punch a hole in a hurry providing you have clearance under your part . I have quite a few of them .

No , they are not WCEM inserts after looking at the closely .

Thanks for your thoughts! I'm leaning more and more towards Kennametal. Probably early Kennametal.
