Here's the deal--- I own a SB-16------ I bought it for boring and drill holes in the center of round stock. This is all set up and working just fine after picking up a couple Jacobs chuck of Ebay.
Now I am thinging I want to use the tool post for cutting. Is there a brand or size that I want to buy. After shopping around I have already seen many different ways to go and I also noticed that my lathe uses a bigger tool post. The ads I see are mostly for 10 inch or smaller machines.

Thanks

Are you saying that you want to update to a quick change or toolholder for the lantern style. Off top of my head as
far as lantern tooling theres a lot out there cheap. As far a quick change I went with Wholsale Tools online for $150
even though a china. Its a lot better than what I had. Memory serves me I should think BXA series will work.

It is either BX or CX series that fits your lathe, check the spec sheets. Your other choice is piston or wedge. On that you can join the debate on which one is best!

Either Jeff's (Tools4cheap.net) or Phase II comes to mind.

Of course, Aloris is considered the best, but very expensive.

I bought one of Jeff's for my Heavy 10, if I ever get it running.
