Needed to cut a piece to thin for the vise on my 4x6 bandsaw bolted 2 123 locks together clamped into the vise and used some hold down clamps where there' a will there's a way
Another way would be to use a couple of V blocks and the hold toe clamp. Odd stuff is always a challenge but can be over come with a little bit of thought. Great solution you come up with.

I've done the same thing many times in my past, too. I've even moved the fixed jaw back about an inch in order to cut off 7-1/2" round in my 4 x 6 bandsaw. Slicing and dicing is common with my saw.
Local shop was nice enough to cut me off that chunk for 5 bucks and since I only need to cut it down to .500 I didn't wanna waste an inch and a half in shavings it worked out pretty good not perfect but I did have to flip it since my saw bottomed out on my step block
