What would you do with a 4" OD x 4" long piece of brass round bar? Along with everything else my father gave me recently, was this beautiful hunk of brass. I faced it off to show its beautiful brass color, which will tarnish over time. But I'm lost as to what I should make out of it.

So let's hear it. What are some things YOU would do with this heavy chunk of metal?

If I had that, I would send it to an old timer named "Bill Gruby", I'm sure he could find something to do with it. He can stare at something like that for hours then all of a sudden he says, "Hey, I know what I can make from that."

Great question.
I got a chunk something like that in the vise of my Marvel 9A power hacksaw when I bought it.
Not exactly sure where it's at, but I kept it for a project someday.
I'll be watching for some great ideas.

I would make a siege mortar out of it and a white oak base to mount it on, 1 inch bore would make a great bang.

I have a piece of 4" OD solid x about 12" long of 360 brass left over from dad's shop. Right now it is buried in the mix of other steels so it is not notice by "sticky" fingers.
