What is this?

Hi, I ripped apart a South Bend 9” almost 2 years ago and was going through the unknown pieces. I ran across a split tapered Hub, another hub and then this piece. I dont think the hubs went to the lathe but this piece has the same color paint as the lathe did. Can anyone ID it? It seems like some kind of hinge stop.

I thought it looked familiar, I actually went to the shop and looked over my 1937 SouthBend 9"....and did NOT see that part.

That's my missing stop to my HF 4 x 6 horizontal band saw!! How did it wind up there?

Quite possible. Not every thing I got was for the lathe, he had a bunch of cans full of tool holders and such that I grabbed.
