If it weren't for the legs on it it kind of reminds me of those old torches used along side of the railroad tracks. Of course that's been a long time ago.

They used them in construction zones on the highways, too, back when I was a kid. Some people called them smudge pots, they burned kerosene. As kids, we used to think they were bombs like in the cartoons!

during the 40s, keeping the frost off the Orange crop.
