Hi all

I decided to cnc my warco wm14 mill and went from no cnc knowledge to having a pretty good understanding, all from this forum and your cnc builds!

This is still in progress and I'm just waiting for arrival of a 12 mm ball screw for the x axis

Added a cheap and cheerful enclosure to save me spending too long collecting swarf:

Looks like a great project. Keep us posted on your progress. Lot's of knowledge on this forum if you get in a bind and need help. Good luck with your build!

Thanks Tom, I'll add more details in the next few posts.

Add the moment the only wait is on delivery of bearing blocks and ball screw.

I ordered a 16mm screw for the x axis but there's no way enough clearance for it so waiting on a 12mm.

I went with 425oz/in motors, I'm a bit worried the z axis will struggle but I haven't sat down and done any research to find out how powerful these motors need to be.

Looks great so far! Im also in the UK, would you mind posting where you sourced your "bits" from...Im thinking of doing a Warco WM18 conversion in the near future? Many thanks, and keep up the good work.

Hi Matabele

Did you mean all of the mounting plates and motor mounts? Or the other bits and pieces (ball screws, couplings, stepper motors etc)?

I've now reached the point where I have to mount my ballnut to the saddle and not sure of the best way to do this! I've seen lots of examples of people grinding the saddle away to make clearance for the ballnut and am thinking of going his way myself, otherwise the ballnut will have to be mounted on the left hand side of the saddle, I may have enough room for this!

Sorry, my question was a bit vague. I was interested in where you sourced your ball screws, couplings, stepper motors, electronics etc? Thanks!
