Looking for an Accu-Finish grinder.

To sharpen my scraper blades.

Bob,
Thank you for the link.

Good project and idea.

Just thought I would see if anyone had one they would part with...

They show up on eBay every now and then. The Glendo Accura-Finisher is the more expensive one out there and is still manufactured today. The other brand that show up is called Leonard Grind-O-Lap, also sold under the name Conrac Grind-R-Lap, Cold-Grind, and Dyclad, which is the name of the one I have. They were also sold under the ENCO badge at one time too.

4gsr,

Thank you for the names of the other brands.

I found some good info on the Grind-O-Lap.

Kind of like any product with the name -O- in the middle. That matches the age of most of my tools...

Another option for occasional use is to fab a tilt table for the cross-slide of your metal lathe.
Be sure to cover the lathe bed, and to run her slow.

Daryl,
I have a Boyar Shultz 612, that I am cleaning up. After I get it back together I may get a VFD and install to control rpm.

I could do it on my SB13, but would have to cover it really well.

Thanks for the ideas!!

I found this littl grinder in my CL searching...

May be a tad too big for my needs.

I like the little carry handle on top!

But if I had room in my shop, I would load up and go and get it...

Carry handle? hu! If the truck in the back ground is any indication of size, I don't want any part of it! Looks like a 10 HP motor that could develop 50 HP if it was rewound!

Call that sonyize portable...

Back in the cart days they made a 26 or 27 inch trinitron that was tabletop and took 2 man and a boy to properly carry.

Then the put a handle on top and called it "portable"...
