Vintage power hacksaw video

Yep...I have an old Keller hacksaw with coolant tank. It is fun to watch....and love the sound. FWIW....I modified my set up by mounting a 12" Carbide tipped Diablo steel demon blade. It does cut a little quicker....But the blade is a 8tpi so it doesn't work well with tubing. And the only hard part was drilling a hole in the other end of the sawzall blade.
By the way....That's a very cool power hacksaw. I love the automatic operation of it at the end of the cycle.
EDIT-Below is a link to the blade I used. There are 2 different Diablo Steel Demon blades. One is HHS and the below model is the carbide tipped I used. Northern Tool seems to be the only place I have located the Carbide tipped blade.

I have a power Hack saw with a 24 inche long , 10 teeth per inch by 1 and 1/4 inch high blade , I cannot find that kind of blade
to replace the old ones I have ?

Georgesg09, Starrett makes them, as well as Lenox. Travers Tool and MSC both sell them, but you may run into issues with them shipping to Canada. Ebay is also a good source. In most cases 24" long blades are usually taller than 1-1/4" so you might have to go to a taller blade, but that should not be detrimental to cutting anything.

Mcmaster has them also but the Starretts are expensive. Ebay is the best source pricewise.

By the way....From looking at McMaster listings, I'm wondering if yours is 23-5/8" long by 1"

The 24" blades are 2" wide and only available 4tpi. The 23-5/8" is 14tpi and 1" wide or height. That one is 33.00
Good luck and FWIW...If me...I'd try Ebay first.

Thank you for your answer , I can get a blade in Montreal QC Canada , but I do not find a 10 Tpi blade only a :
RS600-6 16174 EBS 320AU

This is a 6 Tpi blade , I use the 10 Tpi blade as an all purpess blade I cut 16 and 14 gage tubing with it , but I also cut 1/2" , 5/8" , 3/4" , Up to 3" dia. stock up to 5 inches by 3/4 inch thick , My blades are about 30Years old ! ?

I would scrap a 6 Tpi blade in no time ?

10 tooth blades can be hard to come by, but they are out there. Your saw will also accept shorter blades and 10 TPI blades are usually easier to find in the shorter lengths. You might even be able to use standard hacksaw blades in that saw, direct from your local hardware store, but you will need to ease up on your cutting pressure and feed rate if you use them.

ON EDIT: I found that MSC carries a wide selection of power hacksaw blades, with 10 and 18 TPI both available in 14" long blades. The only thing I do not know is whether or not MSC ships to Canada.

That is exactly the same saw that I had, same feed line, all details, Yes they can run fast, on that top speed you can cut mild steel.

i love this old machine. accurate to .001 in 3 test cuts so far
