Anyone with a van norman mill that can help me with my new 60 yr old mill?
The 16L has power feed on the table long axis (X-axis?) and the lever on the right
end of the table moves it, but only while I'm holding it in either direction.
Q. Should it not lock in the direction with some kind of detent? It does not
seem right that one would have to hold it all the time......
Q. the lever only moves from the central (12 o'clock) position about 5-10 degrees
or roughly from 11:30 to 12:30 maybe why it does not lock in either direction?
Q. assuming that the limited travel of the lever is preventing the lever from locking,
any ideas or suggestions on how to go about fixing it?
