I was reviewing the parts list and parts drawings in preparation for removing parts for repainting and observed in one of the pictures and again on the parts drawing of the RAM a part labeled "PROFILE STUD," P/N J-184 on my page 10, beside the display of the "HEAD STOP." This part is missing from my machine and I would like to know the following:

What is the purpose of the PROFILE STUD;
How would it be used in milling operations;
Does anyone have access to one which they could measure, mic, and photograph (it seems fairly simple and straight forward in construction and could be fabricated easily).

I am thinking that this is a nonessential part that probably gets used very little or none at all and is discarded or lost to most machines. However, curiosity kills and I would like to know, it may even be useful for some of my applications.

Thanks,

Cayuse
