One way to use the back tool post. I made this set up to show some of you how to get more use out of the back tool post on a production cross slide. In this set up 2 tools do 3 things. 1 face part 2 chamfer part 3 groove part from the back and hold a close length from end of part to edge of groove. This is mostly for production work. I used to run 1000 pcs a month had to hold length +- .001 from end of part to groove edge. But there are times you might need to hold close length between
Two grooves etc. I have timed 4 or 5 tools many times.
