They were marked $12 and $15....I offered $20 for the pair. There is a lot of sweat in this picture. Plenty of wire wheel time before paint.

Vulcan II&B Co. 2" x 12" and 1 3/4" x 8".

I did a thread on my restoration project on the Miller's Falls. The Simplex is a 1 1/2" x 8" and in amazing shape.

I want to buy some more smaller screw jacks for positioning work, but I'll wait for ridiculous deals like I got today. Lol.

Anyone else enjoy screw jacks?

Yes . Although a bit larger at 20 tons and it's a ratchet type  .

Ya, I've got a couple. I gave away three or four last year to my son and a friend. I have one that was my grandfathers that is about 3 ft tall. My Dad said they used it for pressing grapes to make wine.

Cool jacks.
We had some on the farm when I was a kid until some scumbags decided to steal everything metal that they could carry off.

I'd really like to find a 6" Simplex or II&B Co but they are huge money on Ebay. Crazy.

I used to have a dozen of the smaller ones and used them for years for cribbing in deep trenches.
This one was an 8" sewer job extension from 1962.
I was 18 at the time.

I really don't like grease in these jacks. Oil flushes out garbage instead of collecting more. It doesn't harden in place either.

What type of paint did you use on the jacks? It's got a lot more pop than your usual gloss black, looks good.
