Top adjustable gibs for 7x12 lathes

You are probably correct that large lathes are less prone to displace the saddle due to the mass of it
but when you use lighter machines gib adjustment is very important.

The 7x? series of lathes have a particularly bad design of gib that frequently looses its adjustment and is very awkward to adjust The mod was designed to improve the location of the gibs and also allow them to be adjusted from the top.
