Threadcutter From Allan Key ?

Hi Bill. Good job and good looking tool. What kind of tool steel did you use for the threading bit? I assume that you did not use the allen key. I just tried making a small tool out of a broken 1/8" drill bit. It kind of worked, enough to get the job done.

Hello Eric,

It was a piece of 6mm diameter round tool steel that I bought at a woodwork show - its just "toolsteel" to me - I don't know enough about toolsteels to be able to identify and discuss different types.
