Does the crank phasing seem completely insane to anyone else? I'm sure there's excellent reason, but I can't figure it out!
 
Not sure how many cylinders there actually are, but staggering firing events to keep rotation at 102 RPM may need a one after the other sequence?
14 cylinder turbo charged low rpm ship engine.....
 
Seems the text might be a bit wrong. It's ~1810 liter PER cylinder not per engine.
The RTA96-C seems to be made in versions between 6 and 14 cylinders.
Each cylinder producing up to 5720 kW and 7'603'850Nm. :grin:
 
It would be interesting to see the machinery used to make that crankshaft.

Yes, I'd love the see the machine tools that made it too!

Can you imagine having a little "moment" as the machinist and messing up?!? Gulp.
