One of the products that I make every so often is screw jack stands for working on boats. These are made from pipe, and all welded together. One of the areas that is tricky is coping out a suitable notch in the end of the pipe. I have pictures of the stands in my photo gallery.

I came across a neat unit by J D Squared Inc that is just the ticket. Called the Notch Master, it will do Straight, Angled and Offset Notches. It states that is will cut up to a 50 deg angled notch but in dry testing it I found that though the graduations stop at 50 the spindle ac be rotated through 90 degrees so you could actually come straight down the bore of the pipe.

Sorry GF took camera so if you want to see pictures look at their website, http://www.jd2.com
