these are two taper mikes i found but will be way out of my budget.

I've seen those come up from time to time. Good deals can be had, but be prepared to wait a couple years or decades.

Pretty nifty, really. Basically just a mini sine bar integral with the micrometer.

Thanks for posting! I've halfway been thinking about making one of my own ... design roughed out, cast iron starting material and a micrometer movement on hand. The images from these ads will definitely be of help
