So, the plan is for a 12 ft lean (open) on the front, 12ft enclosed on the back, and 20-24 ft on the end. 28 x 52 or thereabouts enclosed, finished.

If you bet against it getting bigger, you'll lose the bet. The key here is a balance of wants and needs, and contractor advice, as it pertains dimensionally.
