Splines

What are you folks using to lubricate the splines on your model 850? The manual states 'splines should be lubricated occasionally by inserting grease or heavy oil through air hole in Pulley Nut or by removing Pulley Nut'.

The idea of getting grease in that teeny little hole without the use of some sort of pressurized delivery system seems silly, and heavy oil is just a touch vague... oil does seem to sound like the better answer, though, as I'm more apt to apply it with some regularity.

Thoughts?

Answered my own question. Spoke with Andrew at ElectroMechano today, and he suggested 90 weight oil.

You can get a needle point for grease guns. Even small push button grease guns for chainsaw bars. With those you can put in whatever you choose to use.
