I recently bought an AXA tool post. The only problem with it was the hole for the detent was 90° off from where it should have been - so I just removed the detent and spring and bolted the unit down. Is this The way to go?
My Aloris axa doesn't have a detent nor does my off brand bxa. I have never even thought of have a detent on a quick change tool post. Have seen them on the 4 way tool post. I wouldn't be concerned about just removing it.
