Small boat shaft.

My best job was at a place that had a lathe that doubled would fit between centers and longer. The chuck was 54" diameter short shaft YUPP it really is. What has to be done to the shaft?

First had to straighten it then face the motor coupling to run true to the shaft. It is a 2" shaft the coupling is 8" dia. 8" long with a 14" flange. It gets coupled to a 9' prop shaft. Lathe is 20x80 gap bead.

As I recall from turning propeller shafts in the past the US standard taper is 1/8" per foot included, is this still the standard?

the taper is 1 in 16 or 3/4' per foot for us.
